I am a M.S. Student interested in insect physiological ecology, particluarly as it relates to nutrition and behavior. My project focuses on questions related to ecological stoichiometry - the study of the balance of chemical elements in ecological interactions. Specifically I'm interested in how the nutritional balance of an insect’s food affects the flow of elements into an insect, and use the framework of the 'Geometric Framework' to explore this question. I am using the generalist grasshopper Schistocerca americana as my model organism. When not in the lab I enjoy the outdoors, and I am an avid hunter and fisherman. I also like to travel.

B.S. in Entomology (Texas A&M University, 2007)
